Waselius acted for the defendant, Hardware Group Finland Oy, in trademark infringement proceedings initiated by Abloy Oy, one of the leading manufacturers of locks and locking systems. The Market Court dismissed Abloy Oy’s infringement claims in June 2015.The Supreme Court rendered its judgment on 13 June 2017 confirming the Market Court’s earlier decision that Hardware Group Finland Oy’s key blank products are not infringing. This is one of the very few cases that have got a leave to appeal to the Supreme Court since 2013 when the Market Court become a special court for IPR disputes.
