Commercial litigation requires skills in providing effective and practical advice, both in order to avoid disputes and to resolve disputes already arisen. The role of the litigator is to prevent disputes by working with the client to identify and defuse potential problems and to deal with complex disputes efficiently and intelligently.
Our Dispute Resolution team represents clients in domestic and international arbitration and all stages of commercial litigation covering areas such as contract law, employment law, environmental law, intellectual property law, technology law, tax law, transaction and post-closing disputes, white collar crime litigation and administrative law procedures.
Our highly experienced Dispute Resolution team has represented clients before all instances of Finnish civil and administrative courts, as well as special courts such as the Market Court of Finland.
Our arbitration work is an integral part of our commercial litigation practice. We have extensive experience of arbitration proceedings under the rules of major institutions world-wide, including the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), the Finland Chamber of Commerce, the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce and the Danish Institute of Arbitration. Our partners are also frequently engaged as arbitrators in major proceedings.
Furthermore, we offer the services of trained mediators to deal with disputes out of courts and with the aim of achieving a settlement agreement acceptable for both parties rather than a decision on the dispute.
